John, Google "Hugh Wallis" and check the batches for Rushton Spencer. It looks like three successive generations of unmarried women. It starts with Sarah born about 1740. She has Elizabeth 1758 and Mary 1767. Mary then has Theodosia 1789. Unless a diligent curate has noted the father in the PR's, we will never know. These are the only baptisms in Rushton Spencer batches and there are no Cotterill marriages. Actually on a second look at an earlier batch there is a 1733 baptism of Sarah Cotterall to Frances Cotterall & Sarah. And Francis looks to be born 1700 to John & Mary. On the new Family Search site enter batcn numbers C039492 and C039493 in the Search By Batch Number box that opens just above the Search Icon. Peter
