Hi All, Thank you Sylvia for your posting re the above who was my Great Grandmother. It was about six months ago I posted yet another message on the list and think I said it was my last attempt at finding her birth (baptism). According to Census returns she would have been born c 1830 and her birthplace is given as Pillaton, Penkridge. In 1841 she was living with whom I presume were her Grandparents Robert and Mary Baker at Pillaton and 1851 in service and then after her marriage to ROBERT OWEN she says (or Robert says) that she was born in Gnosall. She was married at Penkridge on 7th June 1855. There was no father's name on the marriage certificate. She lived with Robert at The Whittimores, Penkridge and later at Boz Green and then The Gate Lodge at Teddesley Hall, Penkridge. Robert was Gamekeeper on Lord Hatherton's estate. Ann died on 17th August 1907 and is buried at Penkridge. I looked at the P.R's for Penkridge yet again when I was at the record office last week but unfortunately I didn't have time to look at the Gnosall ones but in the past have searched them at least two times. The Baker family lived in several areas of Staffordshire and as well as places mentioned Eccleshall, and Bradley. Of course she could have been born anywhere. There is an Ann Baker born in Penkridge but her family is as far as I know not related to me. I have over the years read nearly all the Staffordshire records as my family are widely spread throughout most of the county except for the Potteries. Any suggestions as to where to search next would be very much appreciated . Regards, Margaret Felthouse nee Bennett.
