I am trying to establish where two, twenty year old Coal miners may have worked in 1842. They lived in adjoining properties on "The Square" in the centre of Caverswall and presumably did not have to travel to far by foot to get to and from the mine each day. Any thoughts or comments gratefully received. Sunny Queensland
You would be surprised at how far out ancestors would walk to work or anywhere else, they would think nothing of walking 20 miles a day. May be your ancestors did work in a local pit, but you may need to broaden your search, happy hunting from Linda.
