Not the answer to your specifiic question.....but perhaps provides a clue to a possible answer based on a similar name nearby......"Aston Villa FC< was founded in March, 1874. It began as an off-shoot of the nearby Aston Villa Wesleyan Chapel, which was established in 1850. The origin of the name derives from the area that contained a house of the name Aston Villa that was built in the 1700s, a 'villa' being a type of house. 'Aston' is the name of an ancient area which was adjacent to Birmingham and is now part of Birmingham. The house gave its name to the district where the Chapel was built. *For that knowledge, we owe our thanks to the research of the late Mr. G. L. Wilson of Warwick, formerly of Erdington, Birmingham. Both Mr. Wilson and his father attended the Aston Villa Wesleyan (Methodist) Chapel up to 1962.* " On 27 August 2012 21:52, Robert Burns <famh1story@aim.com> wrote: > I am looking at the 1871 census for Bloxwich and believe the address my > Great great grandfather was living at was Dudley Villa however this address > runs for a large number of pages. It may not be a house, but what we would know as a block of flats or rented rooms. Brian
