Hi Denise You are quite right. Joseph married Ann Boot. Samuel died at The Flatts in 1828 leaving a wife Mary and 5 young children. The youngest was baptised 6 months after Samuel died. Six years later Mary married his kid brother Jonathan which was not permitted at the time. Joseph's will does not acknowledge this second marriage and left Samuel's portion to his widow Mary and then added a codicil to change the legacy to be left to Samuel's children.
