    2. I would disagree with you regarding Thirza and Caroline not being common English names. Having transcribed 3 parish regsiters the former appears in 12 percent of the names and the latter 13 percent. Peter, yes, I have checked the 1851 and 1861...in 1871 they were in Ontario in Peel County. I have a strong possibility for George, as I know he was born in Newcastle, but for Thirza, not so, as she is found as a visitor in both censuses...in Shropshire where she was born.... and I need her father's name. I just now found a record on Familysearch, showing a mother’s name for Thirza of Caroline, and she named her first daughter Caroline........then the father would be Phillip.....she shows being born in Shrewsbury so this records shows Newport, but I see they are about 9 miles apart. Both “Thirza” and “Caroline” are not common English names....so this is a very strong possibility. I am trying to connect George and Thirza to my kin, Sarah Hayes who married William Crewe from Newcastle and married in Cheshire. They emigrated to Peel County, Ontario and were close to the Cliffs who immigrated there after they were married in England. They are buried there very close to each other. A good source shows that Tirza was the niece of Sarah Hayes Crewe(Cook) and I want to know how they are related.....so I need the parents of both George and Thirza to work on that connection. I have all the Ontario records on these folks after they emigrated....death records etc....and of course, Ontario death records, at least for that period, so not show parents' names. I already had the ancestry of William Crewe and Sarah Hayes. Thank you so much for your help and any input is certainly welcome. And thank you also Linda! Barbara, Have you looked at census dates before and after marriage? You should be able to derive parents from there without the cost of a certificate.
