Always assuming the informant knew, of course. Birth certs give the names and ages of the previous issue and dec if necessary.. s well as the current birth. Place and year of marriage, and parents' names incl mother's maiden names. But - we do not have the censuses as they were deliberately destroyed. It almost evens out.. though our certs give us the edge I think especially now electoral rolls are on line uop to 1980 (Ancestry, so you pay, of course). I even found myself! Relevant Death Certificates are also included with microfilmed wills for the state. Very handy!
