Is there anyone with knowledge of the parish of Forton on the Shropshire boarder and the parish records from this parish? I am trying to track down the origins of my 3x-gr grandfather John Webb. I know that, based on his age at death, he was born in 1779 or early 1780 and am relatively confident that he was born in Staffordshire. He married Hannah Withington, whose family was from Preston on the Weald Moors just a few miles from the Staffordshire boarder (Hannah was actually christened at High Offley in 1779) so I thought that it would be reasonable to assume that he may have come from one of the Staffordshire parishes close to the boarder. I did find this http://www.melocki.org.uk/salop/Montford.html but couldn't find Webb on it.
