    3. Hi Rob, Is the Benjamin you are looking for the one who, in 1881, had children Zaccariah, Enoch etc? If so, and you may already have looked at this, I think Benjamin remarried Jun qtr 1884 to Fanny Hockold (FreeBMD). In the 1891 census he has 2 of his children from his first marriage with him - Jane and Alfred. Have you had a look at that marriage cert? My gggrandfather stated that his father was Henry when that was in fact his uncle. He was illegitimate and had obviously been taken in by his uncle from an early age so may not have known any different. I know he was illegitimate because his mother actually named the father on the birth cert even though she never married him. I have no idea who he was (other than a name) - that's my big brick wall. Anyway, back to yours. Have you considered that any of his children's names may be family names? I have had a quick look at Zacs and Enocs and couldn't see anything obvious but it may require something more painstaking. If he did marry a traveller you may find that he was cut off from his family - I am descended from travellers/gypsies and that appears to have happened to one of my other ggrandfathers. Travellers are great fun to trace.......! hth, Anne
