John, You don't need ship or port of arrival. Just use England to Canada 1905 +/- 5 years. I'd also try Find My Past for People Leaving UK. You can do the basic search for Free then try to match up the dates etc and get fuller details via Ancestry. Peter

John Found this on Ancestry , but no Nellie- Name: Walter Collins Gender: Male Age: 22 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1883 Date of Arrival: 15 Apr 1905 Vessel: Lake Erie Port of Arrival: St John, New Brunswick Port of Departure: Liverpool, England There was also a Frank Collins, aged 23, on the Lake Erie and I think this is them in 1906 Census. Name: Walter Collins Gender: Male Marital Status: Single Age: 21 Birthplace: England Relation to Head of House: Boarder Immigration Year: 1906 Province: Manitoba Sub-District Description: Ward five Sub-District: 5A Frank is in the same household same details except aged 23yrs. Then I found this -that Walter Harry Collins crossed into Canada from US in Sep 1908, going to Winnipeg Manitoba. So perhaps the above isn't him !! Furthermore I found them all in 1901 in Smethwick and there is no Frank. At 13 Corbett Street, St Michael's Parish Smethwick Walter Harry Collins 45 Sarah Hannah Collins 47 William Fredk Collins 19 Nellie Georgina Collins 17 Walter Harry Collins 15 Edwin Collins 14 Gladys May Collins2 And I found this in 1961 Census of Alberta. Walter H Collins Male Single 31 1885 England 1908 arrival 19, Battle River, Alberta address 47, 3, 4, Merton District English Self (A & B) Townships 45, 46, 47 and 48, ranges 5 and 6, W. 4. M. Walter H Collins aged 31 yrs. Then I found this for Nellie Philadelphia Passenger Lists, 1800-1945 about Nellie Collins Name: Nellie Collins Arrival Date: 2 Feb 1911 Age: 27 Years Estimated Birth Year: abt 1884 Gender: Female Ethnic Background: English Port of Departure: Liverpool, England Ship Name: Merion Port of Arrival: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Friend's Name: Mrs W Harrison Birthplace: Smethwick, England Perhaps they both arrived through U S A Walter H COLLINS Date of departure: 30 July 1912 Port of departure: Liverpool Passenger destination port: Boston, USA Passenger destination: Boston, USA Date of Birth: 1885 (calculated from age) Age: 27 Marital status: Single Sex: Male Occupation: Joiner Ship: Ship:CYMRIC 106898 White Star Line Arrival Boston, USA Perhaps Nellie left earlier.
