Hi Phil I did see that entry, so maybe I will be digging into the Bradbury family a little more, though I didn't find a brother William for Thomas Edward. Still no one said it had to be easy! Hi Barbara, Just looked on ancestry for George Thomas Bradbury but cannot find them on the 1911 census, but there is a copy of a marrage certificate which maybe George's sister Eliza Annie Bradbury daughter of Thomas E Bradbury of 34 Albion Street Longton on the 3 November 1912 to James Sparks at Longton, one daughter second marriage to James A Tams 1916 4 sons and 2 more daughters. Hi Denise This is really exciting, can you tell me where you found the marriage as I couldn't see it on Ancestry. You may have also solved another long standing niggle. Growing up there was a Mr & Mrs Tams who lived across the road from us and were somehow related to us and to Annie's son Ken Bradbury but I could never work out how. I never knew Mr & Mrs Tam's first name at the time, but checking the electoral register a while ago he was James - I was hoping he was Leonard as I had one of those. I need to find my notes to check the name of his wife, but it could well be them, so if so a big thank you for solving another problem. It also shows the advantages of researching all lines [well that's my excuse] Regards Barbara On 9 September 2012 19:16, Denise <cinderhill971@btinternet.com> wrote: > Hi Barbara, > Just looked on ancestry for George Thomas Bradbury but cannot find them on the 1911 census, but there is a copy of a marrage certificate which maybe George's sister Eliza Annie Bradbury daughter of Thomas E Bradbury of 34 Albion Street Longton on the 3 November 1912 to James Sparks at Longton, one daughter second marriage to James A Tams 1916 4 sons and 2 more daughters. > Denise > > > ________________________________ > From: Barbara Gray <barbarajgray8@gmail.com> > To: staffordshire@rootsweb.com > Sent: Sunday, 9 September 2012, 18:40 > Subject: Re: [STAFFORDSHIRE] BRADBURY > > Hi Phil > I did see that entry, so maybe I will be digging into the Bradbury > family a little more, though I didn't find a brother William for > Thomas Edward. > Still no one said it had to be easy! > Regards > Barbara > > On 9 September 2012 18:23, Phil Davis <philmax.davis@virgin.net> wrote: >> Barbara.... >> >> You might want to dig a little into the family living at 10 Cooke St. >> Longton at the time of the 1911 census. How strange! Probably your Bradburys are no relation but my 3x great grandparents Joseph and Margaret Simpson lived at 34 Albion Street, Longton in 1861, and Joseph until at least 1871! Unless of course the numbering was changed in the meantime, but I thought that address sounded familiar!
