Dear List I have a marriage of Abraham MOSS to Elizabeth LAPTHORNE in Totnes, Devon in 1784. The marriage register entry states that Abraham was 'of Alstonfield, Staffordshire'. Whilst that doesn't mean he was born or baptised there, I would like to know if there is a baptism circa 1760, but possibly 1750 to 1763. I have no information regarding his age or parents' names, sorry. Still do not know when and where he died/was buried. I have contacted Staff/Birm FHS and note that microfiche exist for this parish. I have asked about transcriptions on CD, and have no answer to my requests. I have also asked a volunteer for a lookup, with the same result. Would any Lister have access to the Alstonfield baptisms, and be willing to check for this name please? I'd be most grateful to know if Abraham might have been baptised in Alstonfield.
