    3. I THINK Methodists in general did have baptism - not sure about infants though. Are you sure all the prs/con-conformist records are on line for the region you want? I know what they say, but so often they have bits and call it - baptisms from 1800-1837 but digging deeper shows they have ten in 1800, a handful elsewhere, and a lot in perhaps 1826! The Wesleyan Methodists - I know less abut them. It would be worth googling it and seeing what they have - in fact I am off to do that right now! Maybe it applied to Wesleyans too, although why so many non-conformist records on Family Search? Surely some must have been Methodist/Wesleyans who were in very large numbers? Or maybe I have got it wrong! Cheers Diana On 12 April 2012 09:22, Dawn Webb <dawnwebb@optusnet.com.au> wrote: > Some non-conformists did not "do" baptisms - not infant ones anyway. 3. Some of mine from Northumberland were Wesleyan Methodists and did baptise their babies. See IGI Batch number C15565-1. Maybe there was no Wesleyan Methodist Minister in your area at that time, or maybe infant baptism was out of favour with the local minister.
