Hi, I hope SKS will be able to help JOHN JAMES born 1836 born Pembrokeshire Wales but his age varies from census to census in 1901 census he has himself down as 55. He was a boat builder or ship's carpenter and living at 29 Walker St Tipton He was living with his wife Sarah who also altered her age to 50 1901 census 29 Walker St Tipton Staffordshire John age 56 ( should have been 65) canal boat worker born Castlemartin Pembrokeshire Wales 2nd wife Sara Tomlinson 50 Bedworth Leicestershire Walter son 21 excavator born Tipton Staffordshire Alfred James 9 b.Birmingham Wombelton, adopted son Previous to that Sarah was born c 1836 I am trying to find their deaths and considering they were mostly at Tipton certainly there in the 1891 and 1901 census I did find a Sarah James age 67 death last quarter 1906 Dudley Staffordshire Only John James possible was in 1904 at West Bromwich aged 67 which is not Dudley of course Is it cheaper to get it from Staffordshire Records Office or GRO.
