If you drive down Locketts lane, which is now in two halves, ffrom the Uttoxeter road end, cross over Normacot Road via a little dog leg junction and carry on down locketts lane. As you cross over this dog leg look to the left for the Tam o'Shanter Pub and keep its position in your mind. Carry onn down until you come to the end of Locketts Lane. Park the car and on your right will be a footbridge over the A50. Walk onto the bridge and stand at the highest point and look to your left (East) towards Derby and you are looking over Prospect Place. Look back to the Tam O'Shanter and then think that 20yds further east from Normacott Road running roughly parallel with Locketts lane was York Street, All gone now but the top end is now all covered with grass and trees. You can walk back to the Tam o'Shanter and Imagine where it was. Uncle Toms Row doesnt immediatly come to mind but if you give me a name in a census of who you have in that Row I should be able to pin point it on the ground for you. Steve

    3. Thanks Steve, thats absolutely wonderful. I am sure my cousin can find it. In the 1901 census at 6 Uncle Toms Row was my grandmother Louise Cotton age 15 with her mother Elizabeth and family. They were late in Prospect Place so I would expect it to be in the same general area - they didn't move far!
