What wonderful people you are on these lists - I would like to say a very big and heartfelt thank you to everyone who replied to my plea for information on George Humphreys and his family including of course Jackie and David who replied off list. I am determined to follow every lead as I have been seeking this information on George for a number of years. Even if I don't find any more information then I already have, at least I know that he was my gt. Grandfather even though he and Leah never married. I actually found George by chance as I was looking through the 1874/75 Rates book for the area. But of course it only names him and not Leah, however on a subsequent census I found his son living in the same house. So I know now that perseverance does sometimes pay off.
