    3. Hi Marilyn Basford RD will cover parts if not all of Langley Mill. I'm fairly sure your Diana/Dinah is the one registered born Basford RD DecQ 1873 7b/111 Spellings aren't totally reliable - Dinah and Diana are pretty close when spoken in a Langley Mill accent. 2. Steve
    3. From the Ancestry 1911 page "We now have the full 1911 Census, with all the scanned pages. Currently, the only pages that are searchable using the form on the left are the Summary Books. These provide an outline of the information, including the head of the household, how many people were living there and what kind of property it was. To use the complete census, you’ll need to select a specific collection, such as the England or Wales Census, from the list on the left. You can then use the ‘Browse this collection’ options on the right to view the records for a particular county and parish." As for the BMD the civil registration is there right up to 2005, though some of the quality of indexing/transcription from 1916 onwards is a bit off. 3. Staffordshire doesn't appear in the dropdown list of counties on the 1911 census search place so I assume that means it is yet to be transcribed. However, Ancestry do have Cheshire for 1911 and your JAMES family mentioned in your other email was in Stockport, Cheshire that year. Search for 'J George James' born in 'Chattham' to find them. 3. I think they could be the family in the 1901 Scotland Census in Dalziel in Lanarkshire - John James, aged 33, born England, occupation: under roller at steel mill, wife Mary aged 31, children: Inez, 14; Elsie, 8; Freda, 6; John, 4; Gladys, 3; Reny, 1. The ages of John and Mary are a little out, but the occupation and daughter Inez look like a match. According to FreeBMD there was only one Inez James born in England in the 1860s. 2. Watson Family
    3. Hi, I hope SKS will be able to help JOHN JAMES born 1836 born Pembrokeshire Wales but his age varies from census to census in 1901 census he has himself down as 55. He was a boat builder or ship's carpenter and living at 29 Walker St Tipton He was living with his wife Sarah who also altered her age to 50 1901 census 29 Walker St Tipton Staffordshire John age 56 ( should have been 65) canal boat worker born Castlemartin Pembrokeshire Wales 2nd wife Sara Tomlinson 50 Bedworth Leicestershire Walter son 21 excavator born Tipton Staffordshire Alfred James 9 b.Birmingham Wombelton, adopted son Previous to that Sarah was born c 1836 I am trying to find their deaths and considering they were mostly at Tipton certainly there in the 1891 and 1901 census I did find a Sarah James age 67 death last quarter 1906 Dudley Staffordshire Only John James possible was in 1904 at West Bromwich aged 67 which is not Dudley of course Is it cheaper to get it from Staffordshire Records Office or GRO. Is the same information on both? Any suggestions are really welcome and will be greatly appreciated Many thanks Cheers Marilyn from Western Australia
