    1. [ST-VRAIN] invite to OurAcadianRoots & OurLouisianaRoots
    2. Paul L LeBlanc
    3. On January 7th Ancestry/Rootsweb announced that beginning March 2nd, 2020, they will discontinue their Mail Lists functionality.  Upon receiving this notice Paul L. LeBlanc immediately began searching for another website that could accommodate the mailing list format he uses on Rootsweb.  After much research, he determined Google Groups was the best option.  So he has created two new public Google groups: “Our Acadian Roots” and “Our Louisiana Roots”, which between them will consolidate 77 Acadian and Cajun, 10 uniquely Louisiana, many French surname, and 32 Louisiana Parish Lists.  The new consolidated Genealogy research/discussion groups will focus not only on Acadian and Louisiana ancestors, but also on "All Early French in North America". Come visit the groups' new websites and take a look at the new format: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/ouracadianroots or https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/ourlouisianaroots If you would then like join either or both of them, just click "Join group to post" located at the top left of the page. If any questions or problem joining contact Paul at [email protected] If you would like to create your own "OUR ______ ROOTS" Google Group for your family or Parish/County, contact me at [email protected] .  I may have some ideas to help you get started.  In addition, we may be able to add your new group to our new and expanding research family. For more information, Paul L LeBlanc at [email protected]

Author: caedro Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.st-2e--20-vrain/37/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have come to a dead end. Cora St Vrain (born 1869) is the daughter of Charles D St Vrain (born ~1827). Our family has oral history that Charles is the son of Augustus (b 1840) but we have no confirmation of that. All fact finding missions come up with nothing showing children for Augustus. Does anyone have a parent lineage for Charles D (married to Alice Eden) with a daughter Cora? I don't see Rolf coming up on any descendant surnames lists so somewhere we're lost... granted i'm new at this and all... That info was posted in 2002 and contains inaccurate info. The best thing for you to do is to e-mail Christine St Vrain at: [email protected] and ask for instructions for joining the St Vrain Web site. There is all the information you could want on the St. Vrains!

Surnames: St. Vrain Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/kQJBAIB/2.2 Message Board Post: Hi, I am confused. You have that Julia St. Vrain was born in France in 1826. Felix St. Vrain U.S. Indian Agent was married in Ste. Genevieve in 1822. Julia had a sister Felicity (Mary) b. 16 August 1823. At any rate, do you have any idea of what happened to Felix wife Marie Pauline (Gregoire)? And rather any of the other siblings went with the mother or other persons as well? I am a direct descendent of Felix as well. Thanks so much!
