    1. [ST-LOUIS-GENEALOGICAL-CIG] is no longer in existence STL Library
    2. A few years ago I was at one of the local St. Louis libraries and found microfilms of Catholic church records, baptisms, marriage, etc. Does anyone know if these are still available. The library website I found was not very clear as to what it has. Is there more than one library system in town? Also, I have a translation of an article supposedly published in the German-American newpaper "Amerika" in 1909. Does anyone know if there are any microfilms or databases for this paper? I want to read the original artcle in German. Planning a trip in late August and trying to line up tasks. Thanks Jim Coleman

    1. [ST-LOUIS-GENEALOGICAL-CIG] is no longer in existence Notice on StLGS-CIG List
    2. Bob Goode
    3. Hello, The St. Louis Genealogical Society will be terminating the StLGS-CIG. This CIG (Computer Interest Group) has not meet for years and the email list is now only receiving spam notices several times a week, and I must respond to the request on the spam hold. There have been no messages posted to the list for months and months. Many of you probably have forgotten that you were still subscribed to this list. Therefore, you will be receiving an unsubscribe notification. By replying to this notice and the unsubscribe, you will only generate more unnecessary emails. I tried to unsubscribe the group list without anyone receiving an email but that process failed to work. Thank you for your understanding. The unsubscribe notice will be sent shortly. However, if you might be relation to Walshes, especially ones that moved from St. L to E.St. L, I would be interested. > From: [email protected] > Date: Sat, 26 Feb 2011 08:29:18 -0500 > To: [email protected] > Subject: [ST-LOUIS-GENEALOGICAL-CIG] Check out http://www.sos.mo.gov/images/archives/deathcerts/1938/1938_00020644 > > > Here is link to Simon Solomon death certificate. > > _http://www.sos.mo.gov/images/archives/deathcerts/1938/1938_00020644.PDF_ > (http://www.sos.mo.gov/images/archives/deathcerts/1938/1938_00020644.PDF) > > > EPW. > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Hi, Ilene, This is very interesting information -- and will actually be quite helpful to me -- but I'm not the person who submitted the question. You might want to resend. 3. No, it is not SPAM, but it is not a good practice. It is really an email addressing system used by businesses to maintain business contacts. See http://www.searchenginejournal.com/plaxo-3-beta-review/5185/ Apparently when you subscribe to the Plaxo system it sends emails to everyone in your email address book asking for additional information. My brother-in-law uses it for his business. When it does not receive an answer it sends additional requests. Just ignore them. Jhbennett should be contacted and reminded that not all email addresses in his address list are business related.
