    3. I understand the Dutch Reformed Church kept very good BMD records for the Dutch Burgher community in Ceylon. Are these records accessible on line ? Regards Peter Goggin

    3. No Peter unfortunately they are not. There are even "mother" films in The Hague but they wont put them on CD for me as those are the only films and they do their copying outside and wont take the risk of having them lost, burned, kidnapped, stumped on...... So I have been trying to get them from the Mormons. The Mormons do not sell copies to private individuals unless I get permission from the source in Colombo, and that is what I am trying to do for some time now. The Mormons do have the largest copy material for Ceylon with last wills and BMD and correspondence from Dutch times. You can order copies to view at your local LDS center, the originals looked terrible in The Hague and you have to know Dutch.
