Hello Listers, It seems that Point de Galle was a place where lots of people were born [including my G Grandfather] in 1847/8. Was this by chance, or were the facilities better there? Was there perhaps an Army hospital that people headed for? I'd also be very interested generally, in 'how it would have been' for someone having their baby in Ceylon in those years. Cheers. Christine.
