Hello Julian, Sorry I should have said we're pretty sure William (BurnsThompson) McDonald-Davidson was born in Scotland, though we have no details. His wife Agnes (de Silva?) was Ceylon-born. We're pretty sure she was Sinhalese, but again sadly have no details. He was a tea planter (Dunbar Estate, Hatton). He died in Ceylon, but exactly where and when we don't know. Anyway, sorry we can't help you. Cheers, Lindsey ----- Original Message ----- From: "Julian Lovegrove" <julianlovegrove@hotmail.com> To: <srilanka@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, May 11, 2007 1:09 AM Subject: Re: [SRILANKA] Davidson research > Hello Lindsey,Do you know where, in Ceylon, your William Burns Thompson > McDonald-Davidson was born please, or who his parents were?My grandfather > Cecil Morrice Davidson was born in 1876, in Ceylon, so they 'might' be > brothers?Do you know where or when he died?Regards JulianJulian Lovegrove > > 21 Seafield Road > > Broadstairs > > Kent CT10 2DD > > England > > Business Website: www.antiqueswestmalling.co.uk> From: > lindsark@ozemail.com.au> To: srilanka@rootsweb.com> Date: Thu, 10 May 2007 > 23:40:35 +1000> Subject: Re: [SRILANKA] Davidson research> > Hello all,> > > Thought I'd throw this in, in case the names ring any bells with anyone, > > please:> > My wife's ancestors included:> > William Burns Thompson > McDonald-Davidson (born c. 1880?) who married Agnes > (de Silva?)> One of > their children was:> Alice Davidson (b. 1900, d. 1985) who married Aldrick > Oscar de Zilva (b. > 1900, d. 1960)> > We know from there on, but getting > info going back is the problem... > _________________________________________________________________ > Try Live.com - your fast, personalized homepage with all the things you > care about in one place. > http://www.live.com/getstarted > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > SRILANKA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message
