I subscribed and followed the directions, but it just took me round and round in circles, taking me back to the search page every time I tried to access the "Free" Alpha Break-up for the 19th century records that I KNOW are on the Index. Births Abroad seem only to be for the period 1966 to 1994 I know it would not be my settings, and I also think that www.findmypast.com is much better value. Yes, I agree..... I'd already downloaded the special viewer (DJVu) and have successfully tested it, so I'm surprised that the images do not download properly. Methinks the site has a problem. Pity! I realise, after scouring a Ferguson's Directory of Ceylon 1871 On-line edition and noticing that these directories actually list the names and wages of Civil Servants. One of my rellies who reputedly "died surveying the jungles of Ceylon" may be listed in the Diretories under Surveyor General's Department in later directories. Another who worked for the Public Irrigation Works of Ceylon, may also be listed in some directories.. Are there any other Fergusons Directories on line that I could scour, or if someone has some later copies, could they please do a lookup for me.. I am looking for : Norman Angus Campbell, Public Irrigation Works of Ceylon after 1874 but prior to 1882 Colin Campbell at Sureyor Generals Department, probably after 1874 and prior to 1923 Thanks if you can help Gay
