    3. Hello Mr Warner, I am happy to assist, even briefly, anyone who wants to know about lovely Nuwara Eliya. I spent the first months of my life living at "Lebanon", our home in the hill country (you can see a snap of a portion of the house at http://www.greatmirror.com/index.cfm?countryid=376&chapterid=958&picid=21&picturesize=medium.) NE has changed since my early years there, but is still very beautiful. Here are some websites you might enjoy, providing an overview. If you can manage it--if the political situation allows-- do visit. It is a wonderful place. http://www.greatmirror.com/ (select Sri Lanka, then NE) http://www.explorelanka.com/places/hill/n_eliya.htm http://www.billwood.com/travel/srilanka/ (travelogue) http://www.nuwaraeliya.org/mayor.htm (municipal council of Nuwara Eliya web site) Greetings from the Netherlands. 3. Fellow Ceylon Enthusiasts: Does any one happen to have (or know where one can find) a fairly detailed map of Ceylon indicating the various estates? There's a beautiful one hanging in the Hill Club in Nurawa Eliya, (which, some day, I hope to be able to photograph), but I've not been able to find one anywhere else. Cheers, Glen Hodgins Ottawa,Canada

    3. Dear Listers: I also have this book and bought it this year by Googling the author/title. It was reprinted in 1994 by Navrang publishers in New Delhi. I got it via the Web from the following publisher of "Indological Publications", costs $54 from them http://www.sundeepbooks.com I have no connection with the publisher at all. But as others have said, ithe book is a really interesting and extraordinary source of information. J. Penry Lewis left a fantastic legacy, full of interesting insights into Ceylon life and highlighting the tragedies that accompanied colonial life - so many lost children and curtailed lives. Georgina

I am also attaching the u/m contact information in case the shop no longer exists and further enquiry is needed: - Lalitha Colombage (Ms) E-mail Address): sltpo@wanadoo.nl Business Information: Title: Director Company: Sri Lanka Trade Promotion Office Address: The Netherlands Phone: 0031 70 360 1718 (0) (I HOPE THESE ADDRESSES ARE STILL RELEVANT!) As a matter of interest to my many family and other contacts in Sri Lanka and elsewhere, I have, due to numerous computer crashes, lost most of my old E-mail folders and some of my addresses, so would be very much appreciative if anyone who had sent me family details, could resend them again, presuming that they are still in your folders. I have since looked and nothing , do keep an eye out for it in case anyone else is selling it on Amazon. I will of course let you know if I see it anywhere. I have friends in the business so I shall ask around the dealers. MaryJane.............on a sunny evening in Suffolk UK.
