    3. Hi Raymond, I have all my reasearch but have not been active in research in a few years. Take math courses at Southern Miss to keep busy. I have lots of info in my notebooks and will help out especially on Davidson Sprouse as I have much of his line worked out. Glad to know you are still in the hunt. Thanks for checking with me. If so, you really need to think about that.  Here is what you posted: "Does anyone have William T. Sprouse father of Charles M. Sprouse. William I believe was from Virginia and Charles from South Carolina. 3. Hi Fellow Researchers,      I just wanted to followup with a recent list email you received and one that Steve was gracious to warn everyone about.     Rootsweb dose a really good job of filtering email that go to the list and I'm not sure how the email and the bad link went through. The list filters all email except those that are from  registered users. I have to manually delete or forward those from non members. So I will check further the reason this one came through to you.     For computer safety and safety of your information on them, please follow these safety tips.     1. Update your anti virus software - run a virus scan at least weekly and keep Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 updated.     2. Never open any link that you are unsure of. They may contain a virus.         3. NEVER reply to requests for you to send your password or personal information, no company will ask for these in a email.     4. DO not click on any links while your exploring on the internet that offer to check your system for malware or to speed up your computer, these usually install software and make you pay to remove them.      Feel free to email Jeff or Steve (Steve hope you don't mind), if you have any questions on computer safety or any link concerns.   There are some nice and free programs I use to help protect myself online. I will not list them here, but email if you need ideas.                               Thanks                                                         Sprouse List Administrator - Jeff

    2. George K. Sprouse
    3. I have a reference that George Sprouse and Thomas Sprouse held land grants in Kentucky, George in Christian County and Thomas in Muhlenberg. The reference is The Kentucky Land Grants, Volume I, Part 1, Chapter IV, Grants of Green River (1797 - 1866), The Counties of Kentucky, Page 416. Can anyone tell me whether this was adjoining property. Were these two related? I know a Thomas Prouse/Prowse was in Muhlenberg County in 1810, George was in Christian County. Did Thomas Sprouse change his name? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    3. To Jeff Miller: My e-mail address is still correct and current. The description below, which is from your page can be changed as I have located all of the individual's mentioned. Thanks, Carl Sprouse Here would be the new research description to replace the old one: Carl Sprouse- I am researching my Sprouse family in Kansas. My Sprouse family line is George Sprouse, Sr. (4th Great-Grandfather) (Born 1774- Died 1838), said to be born in England. Have no evidence for this yet, except for the 1880 Census in Kansas, where one of his sons William T. Sprouse (Born abt. 1802- Died after 1870), states his father was born in England. Thomas H. Sprouse (Born about 1804- Died between 1860 & 1870) (3rd Great-Grandfather), Robertson County, Tennessee. James William Sprouse (Born 1832 in Robertson County, Tennessee- Died 1895 in Hutchinson, Reno, Kansas) (2nd Great-Grandfather). Orion Lee Sprouse (Great-Grandfather)(Born 1865 in Nokomis, Montgomery, Illinois-Died 1923 in Inman, McPherson, Kansas. Carl Newton Sprouse (Grandfather)(Born 1899 in Sego, Reno, Kansas-Died 1931 in Larned, Pawnee, Kansas). Carl Junior Sprouse (Father) (Born 1921 in Hutchinson, Reno, Kansas-Died 2003 in Lincoln, Lancaster, Nebraska. Migration route would probably be: England>Tennessee>Illinois>Kansas. My Sprouses also had children who moved from Kansas to California, New Mexico, New Jersey, and Oklahoma. Another line, which is a son of George Sprouse, Sr. (4th Great-Grandfather), is related to the Sprouses who owned Sprouse-Reitz Variety Stores. old research description on your webpage: Carl Sprouse - I am researching my Sprouse family in Kansas. My grandfather, Carl Newton - Sprouse lived in Hutchinson, Reno, Kansas and my great-grandfather Orion Lee Sprouse lived in Inman,McPherson, Kansas. All of their children lived in either Hutchinson or other cities like Dodge City, Great Bend, Sublette, Richfield, Udall, Rolla. I am looking for some missing links: Claude W. Sprouse and his wife Ima, Ella Sprouse (Mrs. M. S. Childs), Dorothy Sprouse Blood (Oklahoma). I've only been working on this for almost two years. I've made a connection with George Sprouse Jr's Sprouse family. James William Sprouse of Tennessee, my great-great grandfather is a brother to his great-great grandfather.

    3. Cecily, Thank you for those very kind words. Jeff and I work very hard to provide researchers a variety of information that is hard to find unless you live near Virginia, Maryland, South Carolina and North Carolina. I am sure I speak for Jeff when I say, we cannot do it without you. Right now, we are working with two other researchers, Janis Smith and Earlene Smart, to try to figure out the Vincent's. We welcome any help any of you are willing to provide. I know that I can always use volunteers to enter data, as I did with my Childless ancestors, so if any of you can spare sometime, we can certainly use it. Think you again, Steve Sent Mobile ----- Reply message ----- From: "Cecily Sprouse" <[email protected]> Date: Wed, Sep 29, 2010 18:25 Subject: [SPROUSE] Sprouse Roll Call and Call for Help To: <[email protected]> Hello all, I am still researching the Sprouses, mostly from Gallia and Vinton counties in Ohio. I am descended from John N. Sprouse, 1786-1878. I am still trying to find definitive proof that John's father was David Sprouse, who fought in the Revolutionary War and died in Vinton County, Ohio. I also still haven't figured out if Martin Sprouse who is also living in Gallia/Vinton counties is related to David or John Sprouse. Still lots of loose ends-- I also want to thank Jeff for keeping the Sprouse website going, I still visit it regularly and Steve Stevens timeline is just incredible! I'm glad to see some notes about the Sprouses in Maryland--I always wondered how they fit in. I’m writing to ask each of you for your help and especially your input. First, I want to update as many of your emails that I can, the researcher list on the Sprouse web page has become outdated. I have personally lost touch with many of you and wanted to correct that. You can check the list and see if your address is correct, if not please let me know and I’ll change it. The researcher page http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~sprouse/S%20Res.HTM Secondly, we need your help with an on going project of collecting and documenting early Sprouse information Before 1850 on all variations of the Sprouse surname and all areas of colonial United States. Some variations include Prout, Prouse, Sprous, Sproul, Sproule, Sprowl, Sprowles, Spruce, Spruse, Spross, Sprosse, Sprout, and Sprouses. With the help of many of you over the years I have a timeline of information on the Sprouse Web Site and can be seen here: http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~sprouse/S%20TimeL.HTM Another joint effort has been done by Steve Stevens and can be seen on his web site. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~stevestevens/sprouse/Timeline/content/Sprouse%20Timeline2.html If you can help us add information please feel free to send it through the Sprouse list or emailing Steve at [email protected] All of you have been very generous with your information and help over the past 15 years. I hope that will continue with this project. Remember through out the years all information has been shared with you and will continue in this effort. I wanted to promise you, that as always information provided is for use by all researchers, and WILL NOT be used for profit. Thanks Jeff ------------------------------ o unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] ith the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of he message
