Hi all, Searching for any information on the following family from Braxton/Webster County VA/WV during the War Between the States. Walter Cool - arrested in May 1862 in Webster County VA by Union Troops. Charged with being a "Dangerous Rebel" during his military trial. Imprisoned at Camp Chase and also Johnson's Island Ohio Late Fall of 1862. Exchanged in Vicksburg in early Dec. of 1862. Never returned home. Family lore says he died near Whyteville VA while returning home. Walter Cool's son: Archibald Cool - Co. B 3rd Virginia State Line .Arrested and sent to Camp Chase Exchanged on Dec 8 1862 in Vicksburg MS. Re-enlisted on the banks of the Muddy with the 19th Va CAV. Died 1/ 23/1863 somewhere near Wytheville VA. Walter Cool's son: Jesse B. Cool- arrested on 11- 12- 1861 and sent to Camp Chase. Probable Citizen prisoner.
