Andrew Sprague a.. 5 hrs agoa.. Facebook b.. Twitter c.. Email Andrew George “Andy” Sprague, 65, of Eureka, passed away 3:20 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 21, 2018) at Advocate Eureka Hospital. He was born Jan. 24, 1952, in Bogota, Colombia, to Richard and Ruth Reichhardt Sprague. He married Peggy Stiles on May 24, 1975, in Stamford, Conn. She survives. Also surviving are his father, Richard Sprague, Greensboro, N.C.; three children, Megan Sprague, Normal; Jason Sprague, Eureka; and Karen Sprague, Normal; three brothers, Rick (Denise) Sprague, Fairfield, Conn.; Jeff (Debbie) Sprague, Hampton, Conn.; Jonathan (Mercy) Sprague, Greensboro, N.C.; one sister, Margaret (Bill) Hunt, Norwalk, Conn.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents. Andy graduated from Eureka College in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for several years as a letter carrier. He was also a swim coach for Eureka area swim teams for 25 years, 16 of those years coaching at the high school. His funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Eureka. Father Eugene Radosevich will officiate. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Eureka, with rosary beginning at 3:45 p.m. Burial will be in Olio Township Cemetery, Eureka.
