Some say her mother was Mary ??? and a few say it was Sarah. Obadiah's will lists a daughter named Mary but it also states that she was the widow of a Demount. Her tombstone states she was born in 1749 and died in 1790 in RI - none of which matches Mary who married William Hewitt. Per the 1850 and 1860 census my Mary was born July 25 1780 and died Feb 27 1868. Also, per the census, my Mary was born in RI. So how did she end up in Edinburg? Obadiah never left RI, so he couldn't be her father, unless she came to NY with another member of the family. Any light that can shed on this would be greatly appreciated.
