I am talking about the Francis Sprague who came over from England. He was born Somewhere between 1590-1600 and died around 1676. He was born in London England and died in Plymoth Ma. Alot of people have his parents listed as Edward Sprague and Christiana Holland from Dorset England. This is not correct. They were not his parents. I am trying to figure out how this Francis Sprague and Edward Sprague are related. And Also looking for Edwards parents too. His father was not Trisram Sprague like people have listed. I have hit a brick wall on the parentage of Abiel Sr. who was supposedly born in 1710 in Rochester MA. I have been told that the Alden Society disputes Dr. Sprague's assertion that Abiel was the son of Ruth Alden and Samuel Sprague. However, I have gone through all the Sprague families who were here at that time including the 3 brothers who came over later. No one mentions Abiel. I am researching the ancestry and family of Leah (Smith) Sprague, 1806-1881. She was reportedly born in Tennessee and raised in Kentucky, and her father was a John Smith. Leah was the wife of Pythagoras (or Goras) Sprague, 1799-1852. They married 24 May 1824 in Sangamon County, Illinois, and they lived in Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, and Kansas. Goras and Leah were the parents of 12 children. Leah died in 1881 in Uniontown, Bourbon County, Kansas, after having spent her last years living with sons Columbus (of Uniontown) and Perry (of Allen County, Kansas). I do have information on Leah through the Sprague side of the family, but I'm more interested in her parents and siblings. I'm most interested in finding a picture of Leah if anyone has one, or knows of someone who has a picture. Thank you, Emily Sproat
