>From The Republic of Columbus, IN (on-line) ----- June Sprague, 87, of North Cherry Street, died at 9:57 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. June worked for the City of Columbus as a meter maid and was a retired beautician. She attended the Ohio Street Wesleyan Church. The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Jason Baker officiating. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Ohio Street Wesleyan Church. Online condolences may be sent to Mrs. Sprague’s family at www.barkesweaverglick.com. Born in Columbus, June 5, 1923, Mrs. Sprague was the daughter of Haywood and Edna Grinstead Blair. She married Elwood M. Sprague November 12, 1946. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1987. I have just googled information from it and read that. I orginally had Francis as a son of Edward and Chrisiana on my family tree also, the then the more stuff I kept reading, it didnt seem right, so I took him off. I am not saying I am right or wrong. Just keep finding that all the information I do find, all matches up and there is no Francis listed as the son of Edward and Christiana. Do you have any other information showing that Francis was there son? Or if you find anything please let me know. I would really appreciate it. I have been working on my family tree too. I am a decendant of William Sprague and his parents Edward and Christiana Holland. I dont have much information on Francis Sprague other than he is from London England, was born around 1590, came over from England on the good ship "Anne" in July 1623. I dont know who his parents were. Some people have Edward Sprague and Christiana Holland listed as his parents, but all the info I am finding...shows that they were not his parents. Also....if he was born in 1590...that would make Edward 14 and Christaina 12 at the time. So dont think they are his parents. I have been trying to figure out who his parents really are, but I have had no luck. I wanted to know if he is related to Edward Sprague and Christiana Holland from Dorset, England who lived in the "Sprague Mill." According to Edwards will it says this: "Written on 6 June 1614 and probated on 13 October 1614, with the records residing in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury[5]. The will was devised primarily to his wife and six children. However, he left 10s. to the poor of Upway and another 10s. to the church in Upway[1,6]. His will specifically names his family as follows: "Ralphe Sprague my eldest son"[5,7,8]; "my eldest daughter Alice Sprague"; "Edward Sprague my second sonne"; "Richard Sprague my third sonne"; "Xpofer [Christopher] Sprague my fowrth sonne"; "William Sprague my youngest sonne" and "Christian Sprague my wife"[5]. Of his children, only Ralph, Richard and William migrated to New England" I am also trying to find out who Edwards father was. Alot of people have Tristram Sprague and Elizabeth Colt as his parents but I have found info saying they are not his parents. I have found this info: "In 1923 George Walter Chamberlain wrote a book titled The Spragues of Malden, Massachusetts (Boston 1923). In this book he describes the settlement of Ralph, Richard & William Sprague to New England. In 1978 a correction was published by D.L. Kent and then in 1980 By Ruth Sprague Dowty, both of these people show evidence that Tristram Sprague is not the father of Edward Sprague. The father is unknown." So....I have not found out who Edwards father is either. I have found the website Spragueproject.com to be very helpful and it has alot of information on it. I just wish I could figure out the Francis Sprague connection to the Edward Sprague family that I am a decendant of. I have found so many people, presidents, ect that I am related to. Its all pretty fasinating! If you are a decendant of Francis Sprague.......you are related to the "DUKE"...John Wayne (Marion Michael Morrison) incase you didnt already know that! He is on my family tree. But without the connection between the Francis Sprague to the Edward Sprague family line.....then I cant figure out the John Wayne connection to my family.
