Sprague in her diaries quite a lot. W.E. was one of her only surviving siblings left. I have several pictures of him, his wife, and I believe some with his children. She left me with some really neat information about his trek on horseback from Canada that is rather interesting. She gave a really good breakdown of Joseph Sprague's wives and children by each wife. I found it interesting that her youngest sister Annie Sprague married George Washington Ross, who was Virginia Sprague's husbands (Henry Burnett Ross) older brother. The biggest nugget that I have found was a very old picture of Joseph Sprague and Pollexyanna (spelled differently by Virginia)Winstead Sprague. It is faded, so I'm trying to find someone who can give me a restored copy, then I will figure out how I can post it. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Just his wife and children Dwight and Felicia (who is the grandmother of my mother in law). Any info would help. Thanks in advance. All these surnames are very familiar(we live in West Creek in an old family home), and so many listed are in Gram Hilda Cranmer's line. You've filled in some gaps. Thank you! We still have questions about Eugene & Anna(Kelly) Cranmer's 4th child-Ann---as Gram Hilda never spoke to us about her, and neither did Aunt Geneva. Haven't been able to find more current info on Ann either. But will keep looking. The families are so large & braided, and they re-use so many of the given names it can be a challenge to keep the different generations correct in my files & for researching. I also do research for the local historical society---so I have acccess to some old documents about the town---besides what Gram Hilda saved in the attic. I may even have pics of some of those mentioned in your post. I hope to get back to you on this board soon---I will try hard---so I can see if I can help you with your research for your John or James Sprague. I have hope I will find more info for both of us soon. I know a member of the Hist. Soc. who can get me his info on the Pharo lines too. Pray that God is willing to let the living allow me free time to do what I love to do soon---Family & Historic Research!!! Life has ust been to busy lately---and my Hubby retires soon---so MAYBE he'll take over some of my chores. (He loves to do my military research too.) He married, before 1930, to Mary Reilly, who was also born in New York. They had one known child, a son named Ralph, born in 1930, in New York. Ralph and Mary separated while their son was a small child, and Mary later married Frank Malloy. Frank raised the child Ralph as his own, and Ralph took the Malloy name. Not known if Frank actually adopted Ralph. Ralph (Sprague) Malloy married Frances Viola, and they still live in New York, but do not know anything about Ralph, who left the family. They had 7 children: Sarah who m. William Kelly, Phoebe married Wm. Southwick, James m. Lydia Haywood (my gr. grandfather), Reuben m. Mary Andrews, Mary Elizabdeth, (died young), Ann Eliza (b. 21, mar. 1839--died 3, Feb. 1920) m. Arthur T. Willits 11,May 1864 (buried in West Creek, NJ), Henry Elwood, and Jedremiah Adolphus,d. as a baby. So, Sarah (above) and Ann Eliza were sisters. I do have the newspaper clipping of Ann's Willits estate. Jeremiah's father was a John Spragg who m. a Mary (Key)??? John and Mary lived next door to son, Jeremiah in 1850. I have searched for yrs. concerning my John's father. My guess, at the present, is that it was either James Sprague who m. Rachel Perkins or a John Sprague who m. a Sarah Seaman. I will not go into dates at the present. And, Mary's last name is down in the records as Mary Key, but there actually is not a deFinite proof, but close to it that it is "Key." As to Arthur T. Willits, his father was a John Willits who m. Hannah Thompson in 1819. Arthur first m. a Martha Pharo) and 2nd, Ann Eliza Spragg. The Willits family goes back to a Richard Willits (born in England ca. 1618/22) and he m. a Mary Washburn . They came to USA ca. 1648/49 and he died in Hempstead, NY ca. 1688. Richard and Mary had Hope Willits (male) who m. Mercy Langdon. Next on the agenda: Eugene F. Cranmer m. as his 2nd wife: Anna Maria Kelly, daug. of Wm. and Sarah(Sprague) Kelly. They were married on 3, January 1888. She was b. 1865. In 1900Eugene was a grocer in West C reek, NJ and in 1910 postmaster. In 1920 Anna was the postmistress at West Creek. Source: Descendants of Wm. Cranmer by Nurray & Jean Harris. In this Bk. it states that Eugene and Anna had 4 children. (Geneva, Paul, Hilda, and Ann who m. (unknown) Kelly. Hopefully, I have helped somewhat. It's late (2:15 AM and I must get to bed. God bless. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
