Mary Anne and all, THANKS ! The notes on those 4 were new to me ! I would like to have more of the notes if you find time to post them. From looking at the chart, I see the Bluford line had 2 George Spences who died in CSA and both were born about the same time. Drury was probably Drury Spence's son. The John H. could be the John H. Spence son of Tire and America Spence. The John Henry Spence, son of Uriah Spence was born ca. 1823, 20 years earlier than this John H. The James Madison Spence that died must be the James Spence who married Lucinda Kinder. Both of these James Madison's were born ca. 1832, however we have Madison and Lucretia ( who married in Carroll County VA ) along with son Ira, alive and well in the 1870 census. Everything we can find will take us closer to putting these people in place. Thanks again, Carolyn
