From researching my other families in Surry Co NC many of them came from the Wake/Nash county area. Isaac Spence Sr. was born ca. 1745. He lived in the Wilmington NC area in 1784-1787. He married Elizabeth Bowden on 4/27/1769, and they had 3 known sons. These 3 known sons moved to Wake and Cumberland Co. NC. Wake county is the Raleigh, NC area. Sons: John b. abt. 1770, wife unknown. One known son, Timothy. Dempsey Powell and had 3 children Sarah b. 10/30/1798 m. Ethelred Blanchard. Sarah had no children with Ethelred, but had one son before she married named Stephen Spence. Ingrum b. 3/6/1802 m. Henrietta Reardon, Eliza Powell and Mary Hockaday. One known child by first wife. Ann b. 9/23/1804 m. Jack Johnston and had 2 children Matthew b. 2/12/1806 m. Mary Parker and had 6 children Catherine b. 9/24/1807. no information Timothy b. 4/30/1809 m. Elizabeth Spain and had 4 rugrats Daniel b. 3/30/1811 m. Sally Giddens Luiaza b. 1/6/1814 John b. 10/16/1800 born in Duplin Co. NC d. 1882 m. Nancy Stewart in 1826.
