Cousins, I have been studying some LDS files on Spence's and wanted to pass along several interesting things I gathered. John Spence & Isabell McCormick Spence's children: Esther Spence born abt 1787 Griselda Spence b. abt 1789 Robert Spence b. abt 1791 William Spence b. abt 1793 in Ohio, Highland Township Nancy Spence b. abt 1795 in OH Ann Elizabeth Spence b. abt 1797 in OH John Spence b. abt 1801 in OH James L. Spence b. abt 1803 in OH Stephen Spence b. abt 1805 in OH John & Isabell married in Rockbridge Co. VA in 1786. The Will of Ester Spence in Rockbridge County VA names son John, and several daughters. Ester Spence bequeathed some items to Isabell. Isabell wasn't named as a daughter, so I think Ester was speaking of her daughter in law, Isabell wife of John. If these LDS files are accurate then, John & Isabell moved to OHIO about 1792. The file was submitted in 1974 in the Ogden, Utah Temple records. Batch 7403925 Film 47 Carolyn
