The 1816 tax list shows land to be on Hunting Creek. Surry County Marriage bond 2-1-1817 Richard Persons to Elizabeth SPENCE. The 1820 Surry census shows Elizabeth Pearson over 45+ with one white male 10 to 16 and one white female 0 to 10. Whoever this Elizabeth Spence was, she was born prior to 1775 to be at least 45 years old in 1820. Carolyn
