Hi gang, I found a marriage record on James Madison tonight as I reviewed my Carroll/Grayson marriage book by John Alderman. Page 147 states: James M. Spence age 22, born in Carroll, son of Mary, and Lucretia SUTPHIN, age 21,born in Carroll, daughter of Ketturia, David Sawyer, Surety. Married 4/27/1854 by James Thompson. So the James Spence in Tazewell marriages is probably the brother of William Spence who married Roseanna Kinder. James married Lucinda Kinder. They are in the Spence/Tuttle line.
