    1. [SouthernTrails] But hey.....
    2. I have heritege in the south also-- my g.g. grandad"Emanuel Martin Corder"was a 5th sargent in the 19th Ridge Spring Reg. of SC,and along w/ his bro. Morgan, they marched(in 1861)in a 1yr campaine fromSC to Maryland,(were lucky enough to not get caught, and put in a Northern war prison),g.g.uncle Morgan was killed on the march back to SC,in Rome,Ga. in Battle, and buried there,(never to return home)---of Course Emanuel returned to raise a few more of us,so that I am here today to write about it---the Corders did not have huge holdings here in the yrs before the civil war--I have found a deed tho that grandad sold to his bro.Morgan, about a 100acres of land, just beyond my hometown of Batesburg--it had,(and still does)a beautiful creek, runnin thru it,a grist mill then, and a log house--along w/ a mule, and wagon, andplow, and a half doz or so good men,and family---all for a couple hundred $s--And knowing the kin that I,ve known thru the yrs,I truely believe they were well cared for----I believe we can all tell (fairly well)how our ancestors treated their life partners,neighbors,etc---then we DO all know that theres always Bad apples in any barrell------
