I am from Texas and consider myself a southerner. i enjoy all the postings on the " Late Unpleasantness". it just occurred to me while reading this last posting, Wonder what happened up North after the war was over? Or for that matter did the Northern states suffer as much as the South did. i know they lost loved ones but did they suffer deprivation in other forms. guess i should try to reread history books but thought someone on the list might know.
