someone said Amazon.com - books has a lot of this stuff, which I did not know. You might try the SC genweb page - whatever county Orangeburg District would have been in. Often books are listed, or can be purchased from local historical society, etc. Sometimes someone with the book is listed to do look-ups. That helps a lot, expecially if you find your ancestor is not listed - saves you money. Or if there is a big listing, then you know you want that book.
