    2. Hi, Do you have the Selden, Erath County Picketts? Also, I goofed this morning. I said that Blackie Martin and Carl Turnbow were kin, There was also a Mont Thomas. They were all Erath County law officers and cattle Traders. Mr. Thomas ran it when I was in High School and my Stone cousins used to skip school and buy a calf to resell or take home to a nurse cow, sometimes with 2 to 4 calves on each cow. Pretty good part time job which taught responsibility. I am not sure which two of the 3 above were kin- all 3 may have been. Take care, Charles A. Texas, under the Treaty of 1845 between two Soverign Nations, enterred the Union with the right to divide into 5 States and/or seceed and did before enterring the Confederacy as a Nation becoming a Southern State. 2. Hi, and according researchbeing done by Double First Cousin for her PhD in Florida, some of these" Seminole" Indians were from a tribe near the Great Lakes near the Algoniquins , whose men were tricked to go with White slave traders, then chained outside their villages and carried to the Caribean Islands to replace Africans dying of Malaria and swamp fevers. My cousin said she had interviewed several in Florida who have a verbal family legend of being made Slaves near the Great Lakes- in the NORTH , the Caribean trips, and the escape to Florida. As fast as they could escape on anything that would float, they drifted into Florida and were accepted by the Seminoles. They were not happy with American Whites, north or South. Great Great Great Grandad James Rutherford Wyly of Ga. Militia was second in command of the Militia of 700 Anglos and 400 Cherokees who sacked and Burned Talahasse, 1812. The Cherokees were bering robbed and raided by some Seminoles who were drawing British Bounties on Cherokee scalps. Sequpya, a criple Seminole, lived with the Cherokees and developed their Written Alphabet, which is still taught in - or was 10 years ago, in Cherokee, N.C. Take care, Charles A. 3. The War Eagle grist mill is located east of Rogers, AR in Benton Co. on Arkansas Road 12. It is a working undershot water mill, said to be the only one west of the Mississippi. Of course it is a replacement, the last one was destroyed during the Civil War. The mill is the site of a spring juried craft fair which has spawned additional fairs throughout most of Benton County and attracts thousands of visitors. Another craft fair is held in October.
