    3. Researching in Louisiana you should be contactingthe Catholic Diocese Archives since all Slaves and Indians had to be Baptisted . There is a record of all these births in the archives.

    2. I am interested in several Plantations and the owners and their families in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. Most of these were around the Port Barre area, near the junction of the Bayou Courtableau and Bayou Teche. Some may have been in the Petit Bois, Arnaudville and Grand Coteau, Louisiana. All or most were in St. Landry Parish, LA I would be interested in any information concerning the families, Plantations and Estates of: Charles BARRE's, Viewx Vacherie Plantation and Barre's Landing/Barry's Landing, for which Port Barre, Louisiana was named.
