My Great Grandmother Caroline Dixon's oral history states that she came from the Louisville area. This was a major auction area. My grandfather told us that she was sold at auction at about the age of 11-14 with her mother and siblings. She was sold to the Dixon's and the rest of her family was separated and sold further south then Ky. I found a death certificated that listed name of Williams as her last name. My grandfather stated that she did try to find them. She thought that they went to Tenn. I don't remember who he said she did that. My question is - anyone know of a farm/plantation that the Williams owned in that area about 1850 or so. The Dixon farm/plantation in the Jefferson county area.
