I don't know about the how or if the North Carolina Slave schedules are listed but the Tennessee Slave schedules for the yrs 1850 & 1860 are listed just as if you were going to look up the reg. census. Example of Tennessee 1850 U.S. Federal Census - Tennessee - White Please choose a Township: - Slave Schedules - Unknown Townships (AIS)Slave schedule index listings can be found at http://www.ancestry.com/search/rectype/census/ais/main.htm With a list of what is indexed in the AIS index at http://www.ancestry.com/search/rectype/census/ais/censuslist.htm Just checked on Warren Co. NC and it is listed the same as TN 1850 U.S. Federal Census • North Carolina • Warren Please choose a Township: Land Creek Division Slave Schedules Nutbush Warrenton You would just need to click on Slave Schedule. Not sure of where a NC Slave Schedule index may be.....I did notice that SC and TN are listed on AIS but didn't see NC. Prior to 1850 the slaves and free persons of color were listed on the census records in their own category with age range & gender http://www.ancestry.com/save/charts/census.htm Hope this helps --MarieB

    3. Marie, I did the "drill down" and found slave schedule info. I just never knew it was on the site. I went to search link below to index listings but can't find any Bigelows. I know this is incorrect because Roderick Bigelow is listed in the 1810 Warren County, NC census with 350 slaves which I have a copy of. I'll go through Warren County page by page - there's only 100 +/-. Thanks. ----- Original Message ----- From: Marie Beckman <rmbeck@bellsouth.net> To: <SOUTHERN-PLANTATIONS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, August 31, 2002 1:33 PM Subject: Re: [Southern-Plantations] SLAVE SCHEDULES - NORTH CAROLINA, Craven, Warren, ...
