I have found ancestry.com very, very limited on any African American research. Sometimes you can get leads from their message boards. I have subscribed to the census and most of my people are listed in the census but when I put their names in ancestry.com, I get nothing. I still have to go to the library. I have received no new info from ancestry.com except the message boards.
