llo List, I am trying to find any information on a Dr. Charles L. Payne/C.L. Pain born circa 1790-1800 in Virginia. Dr. Payne/Pain moved to North Carolina by 1830 to the Northern Division (Lexington Township), Davidson County area. He was a physician and farmer and at one time had about 53 or more slaves. I have located him in the census records with/without his doctor credentials and with his last name spelled more than one way. Before I go to the FHC and find out from there, I wanted to ask if any of this sounded familiar to anyone and if anyone knows if his farm/plantation had a specific name? Denise
