Surnames: Silver, Thompson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/FR.2ADI/88.1 Message Board Post: We have just learned that we have a Silver family that came from AR to SC after the civil war. Two sisters names are known to us, Annie and Janie, parents names are not known at this time. History, oral, from Janie to her grandchildren is that the familly had to sell the children into slavery in AR at Janie's age of 13 yrs. She lived several years (?) until the war ended on some plantation, farming in AR then the family came to SC. Janie had 12 children with an Oliver Thompson in the York SC area. Annie moved to Hickory, NC. At this time we do not know the parents names or if they stayed in York or Hickory. Of course if this information ties in with any that some one has we are interested. Janie and Oliver named the children, Mattie, Hovis Alburtus, Hattie, Arthur, Anthony, Susan, Harvery, Presly, Pearle, James Monroe, Wilver, and Walter.
