There is a chance the info is relevant. You can reach me at robertsca@ureach.com Thanks again!

We are assuming that Jack DANSBY and Mary FLOURNOY, both presumed African American, were connected with them as he listed his marriage date as 1861, there, on his applicatoin for USCT veteran's benefits. Their daughter Mary was born there, and the wife died near New Albany, MS in 1874.

Trying to get info on Roderick Bigelow (, owned 350 slaves,) 1810 census, Warren County, N.C. Where was plantation? slave registers? etc. Roderick Bigelow married Elizabeth Pattillo (who had 3 kids), Warren Co. 1811. I believe Elizabeth Pattillo-Bigelow moved to Craven County after Roderick's death in 1814 with her 3 kids, Thomas, Elizabeth and Mary. What happened to slaves left to Elizabeth and her kids? From the census information I've gathered for Warren County, NC, I know that Roderick Bigelow owned 350 slaves in 1810. Roderick was Born - 1756 - Died -1814 . Roderick Bigelow was the stepfather to Thomas Pattillo and left his slaves to him in 1814. I'm trying to back into figuring out on what plantation the slaves might have been located. Thomas Pattillo also known as Thomas BIgelow fathered 12 children by Betsey Bigelow, Cherokee, slave. He named them all children by Betsey "Bigelows." I can't find any record of them(12 children) before the 1880 Caswell County, NC census (they are all grown up/adulthood in 1880) and I know that weren't "free persons" as I've checked all the lists and all the census from 1800 onward. (Caswell County, NC). In addition, Betsey Bigelow opened an account for all 12 of the Bigelow (adults) at the Freedman Bank (bank for "blacks") in 1871. If there is any guidance you can provide, I'd be most appreciative. VJ

llo List, I am trying to find any information on a Dr. Charles L. Payne/C.L. Pain born circa 1790-1800 in Virginia. Dr. Payne/Pain moved to North Carolina by 1830 to the Northern Division (Lexington Township), Davidson County area. He was a physician and farmer and at one time had about 53 or more slaves. I have located him in the census records with/without his doctor credentials and with his last name spelled more than one way. Before I go to the FHC and find out from there, I wanted to ask if any of this sounded familiar to anyone and if anyone knows if his farm/plantation had a specific name? Denise
I have a list of the names of large Plantation owners in Clarke County, Ms. with the number of slaves they owned. Is there a list of the names of the slaves on the Plantation? I am looking for Caroline Brown and her son John Brown could have been owned by A. Brown or Aral Brown.
