    2. Those of you with plantations records, please list the name of the plantation, location, and all information you have on the slaves like name, age, previous owner, bills of sale, etc/. Many of us are trying to complete our records. I would love to trace mine to Africa and change my maiden name to my ancestor's name.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/FR.2ADI/111 Message Board Post: Arcadia Publishing is currently seeking qualified writers and historians to join with us in an exciting publishing venture to document America's epic story. You may already be familiar with Images of America, our pictorial history series, but Making of America is a new narrative-based series, focusing on the history of towns and cities, and their dynamic uniqueness, across the nation. The idea behind Making of America is to map, town by town, city by city, the entire country, creating a quilt of stories to unite the nation. We have only one Making of America book out of Louisiana, which is just about to be released, and we'd like to see that list grow. Books in this series contain a comprehensive, chronological history of a community's development over the centuries, highlighting major events that had an impact on its citizens and landscape. The narrative consists of roughly 45,000 to 55,000 words and is accompanied by an average of 120 historically relevant images (photographs, postcards, sketches, maps, etc.). Each town holds a unique fragment of United States history; we strive to capture these moments in time for everyone to enjoy in a highly readable and visual way. If you are interested in this new publishing opportunity from Arcadia Publishing or know someone who might be, please contact me at swilliams@arcadiapublishing.com to request a basic information packet. We look forward to hearing from you.
