Lawmakers from California to Kentucky are trying to save money with a drastic and potentially dangerous budget-cutting proposal: releasing tens of thousands of convicts from prison, including drug addicts, thieves and even violent criminals. Officials acknowledge that the idea carries risks, but they say they have no choice because of huge budget gaps brought on by the slumping economy... ...Kentucky spends more than $18,600 to house one inmate for a year, or roughly $51 a day. In California, each inmate costs an average of $46,104 to inca rcerate. The prison budget in Mississippi has nearly tripled since stricter sentencing laws took effect in 1994... ---------------------- Hmmm...for some reason the people who have 'gone to college', hold powerful offices, and make decisions that can affect millions of people, can't seem to pull their heads out of their asses long eough to see it's simply a problem of *SPENDING*. The state governments spend $18,000 and up on a friggin disease to society (drug dealer, ect), yet I seem to somehow survive each month on $750 disability...that's my total, complete income *per month*. That means I have to *live* (pay rent, buy food, buy gas, buy clothes, pay $260 for car insurance/year, and pay $100/year for my crappy dial-up internet) on $9000 a year...but thanks to liberal scumbags like the ACLU ad nauseum, these blights to society get more than too many *d ecent, law-abiding citizens*! If the morons in the positions of making those kinds of decisions would simply put every single prisoner on the same cost-of-living *I* have to live on, their problem would be solved. As I've always said from experience...the people with all the funny leters after their name and the huge IQ's, haven't got a fly turd size of plain common sense. -- Those who decide to 'mind their own business' when they see a 'Bad ThingĀ®' happening, are those that assist in the downfall of law and order and thusly the downfall of their country.
