Stella, I bought a bag of rice today and found that the shelves were well stocked. Maybe the rice shortage was started by the rice 'people'... to help their sales? Then again, you never know... there may be a shortage later on. I don't know whether the price was higher or not... I don't buy a lot of rice. I noticed that the price of gas has jumped in the last couple of days. I filled up Wednesday morning at $3.27. When I came back by four hours later it had jumped to $3.34. Today I noticed that it's now $3.45. This is all at the same local store. I'll tell you what... If I was still running that store, I did for 21 years, I would demand that people pay before pumping. If somebody drives off with a tank of gas you've lost just about all of your profit from that weeks gas sales. Believe me, I was making 4¢ per gallon. Ten gallons at $3.45 is $34.50 and the profit made would be 40¢...period!!! When they drive off with a tank full they're driving off with YOUR money in their pocket. Gotta go...
